  • our web application at calc.melonmachina.com (the “App”).

It does not cover third-party websites or services you may access through links in our site/app. Those are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

2) Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

Website contact forms

  • If you submit a contact form, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, and message.
  • Depending on configuration, form submissions may be stored within Squarespace and/or delivered to us through email or other connected destinations.

Account information (App)

  • When you create or use an account in the App, we may collect and store information such as:
    • email address
    • account or user ID
    • full name (if provided)
    • role or access-status information
    • beta-access information
    • subscription or billing-linkage information
  • We may also store agreement-acceptance information needed to operate the App, manage access, and maintain records of policy acceptance.

Support and communications

  • If you contact us for support or other business communications, we may collect your name, email address, message content, and any attachments you provide (such as screenshots).
  • Please do not submit passwords, one-time codes, backup codes, or full payment card details through support channels.

2.2 Information generated by your use of the App

Saved calculations

  • The App allows users to save calculation records.
  • When you save a calculation, the stored record may include both the calculation inputs you provided and the generated outputs or results.
  • Saved calculation records may be associated with your account so you can review prior work in the App.

Exports

  • Some exports, such as history-based exports, are generated from stored calculation records.
  • Some other exports may be generated client-side from current session data or currently displayed results.

2.3 Information collected automatically (technical data, analytics, and platform telemetry)

Logs and technical metadata

  • Like most web services, the website, App, and related hosting/application platforms may collect technical and usage information such as:
    • IP address
    • timestamps
    • referrer
    • country or region
    • browser, device type, and operating-system information
    • request metadata, such as requested URL, HTTP method, and response status
    • pseudonymous session or device identifiers

Authenticated activity and platform telemetry

  • We use Base44 as the hosting/application platform for the App.
  • Base44 platform telemetry, analytics, and app logs may process technical and usage data related to operation of the App.
  • Authenticated page-navigation activity in the App may also be logged.
  • Depending on the event or log type, platform telemetry and logs may be associated with authenticated user identifiers such as user ID and email address, in addition to pseudonymous identifiers.

Cookies, browser storage, and app-state persistence

  • We and our providers may use browser cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, session handling, app-state persistence, routing behavior, security, and user-interface preferences.
  • Some of these technologies are necessary for core functionality of the website or App.

Analytics controls

  • Some analytics and telemetry are enabled as part of the hosting/application platform and cannot be fully disabled by us.
  • In some cases, field-level exclusions or minimization settings may be available at the platform level.

2.4 Payment-related information

If you subscribe to paid services or otherwise interact with billing features:

  • payment processing is handled by Stripe
  • we may receive and store limited billing-related information needed to operate subscriptions and account entitlements, such as customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, subscription status, and related billing metadata
  • we do not store full payment card numbers in our app database

3) How We Use Information

We use information for purposes such as:

  • Provide and operate the App and website (including authentication, feature access, account-linked history, exports, and delivery of results)
  • Account administration (including role, beta access, subscription status, and related account/profile management)
  • Support and communications (including responding to contact forms, support requests, and legal/privacy inquiries)
  • Security, auditing, and abuse prevention (including detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents)
  • Service improvement and diagnostics (including debugging, performance monitoring, analytics, telemetry review, and product improvement)
  • Legal and compliance purposes (including maintaining records of policy acceptance and meeting legal obligations)

4) How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances.

4.1 Service providers and platform providers

We share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the website and App, such as:

  • Squarespace (website hosting, forms, and domain-related services)
  • Base44 (application hosting/platform services, platform telemetry, analytics, logs, and related operational infrastructure)
  • Render (hosting infrastructure and logs, where applicable)
  • Stripe (payments and subscription processing)
  • email and support tools we use to receive and respond to communications

These providers may process information as needed to host, operate, secure, support, and improve the website and App.

4.1A Authorized administrative and developer access

Authorized administrators and developers of the App may be able to access stored calculation records, operational logs, and related platform data through the hosting/application platform for purposes such as support, debugging, auditing, security, maintenance, and service administration. Privileged access activity may itself be recorded in platform audit logs.

4.2 Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations
  • protect the rights, safety, or security of Melon Machina, our users, or others
  • investigate or respond to fraud, misuse, or security incidents

4.3 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

5) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and operate the website and App
  • maintain account features and saved records
  • support security, auditing, diagnostics, and service integrity
  • comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations
  • resolve disputes
  • enforce agreements

In general:

  • account/profile information, subscription-linkage data, agreement-acceptance records, and saved calculation records may be retained until deleted by the user, deleted by the App, or no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy;
  • operational logs, analytics, telemetry, and audit records may be retained according to platform-managed retention practices, which may vary by log type; and
  • some logs, analytics, and audit/security records may persist after account deletion where needed for security, auditing, compliance, fraud prevention, or service integrity.

6) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no security method is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7) Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of personal information
  • request deletion of certain personal information
  • object to or restrict certain processing
  • opt out of marketing communications, if applicable

Account controls (baseline)

  • You may request account deletion by contacting us at: privacy@melonmachina.com.
  • Depending on the systems involved, deleting an account or requesting deletion may remove or deactivate account/profile data and stored application records as applicable, but some logs, analytics, audit records, and security-related records may be retained as described in this policy.

Cookies and browser controls

  • You can control cookies through your browser settings.
  • Some cookies, browser-storage items, and similar technologies are necessary for core functionality of the website or App.

8) Children’s Privacy

The website and App are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9) International Users

We are based in the United States. If you access the website or App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.

10) California Privacy Notice

10.1 CalOPPA “Do Not Track” disclosure

California law requires websites to disclose how they respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals if they engage in collecting personally identifiable information about a consumer’s online activities over time and across third-party websites.

Our current posture

  • We do not currently operate the Service for cross-site behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time across third-party websites for that purpose.
  • Because there is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not currently respond to such signals with a uniform behavior across all systems. If we later engage in cross-site tracking as described above, we will update this policy and describe our response.

10.2 CCPA/CPRA note

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), applies to certain businesses that meet defined thresholds.

If we become subject to those laws, we will provide additional disclosures and request mechanisms as required.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, we may provide notice in the App and/or on the website and may require re-acceptance where appropriate.
